    •    Design & Development: Designed by Eddie Alkire, an electrical engineer and virtuoso, with input from Rickenbacker. Early versions had 8 strings, later models shifted to 10 strings for increased range.
    •    Tuning & Sound: The “Eharp” system is renowned for its specific tuning—often \(E, F^{\#}, G^{\#}, B, C^{\#}, E, F^{\#}, G^{\#}, D, B\) (low to high), although variations exist. It allowed for semi-tonal, chromatic playing and complex chord voicings not easily achieved on standard 6-string steel guitars.
